Randie believes the key quality of an effective Executive Assistant (EA) is anticipation - the ability to foresee and prepare for the needs of the people they are supporting. This could involve scheduling, ensuring leaders have breaks between back-to-back meetings, or preemptively researching for an upcoming trip. Randie emphasizes the need for strong organization and attention to detail, as well as the ability to juggle multiple tasks. The role may involve a variety of tasks such as email correspondence, taking meeting minutes, and drafting documents, so strong writing and communication skills are essential. Steve is a co-founder of Treasury4, which was established with two other former colleagues from Itron in 2020. During his tenure at Itron, he served as CFO and led the company through significant growth, including nine acquisitions over five years, cumulatively worth around $2 billion. The largest acquisition, valued at $1.7 billion, resulted in an additional $1 billion in revenue, 6,500 employees, and 60 locations in 30 countries, transforming the company from a domestic entity to a global one. Steve was instrumental in preparing the company for this rapid expansion, assembling a strong team in finance, treasury, tax, and other areas to manage cash, debt, bank relationships, and credit agreements. Despite the challenges, Steve’s role at Treasury4 nurtures his expertise in managing complex financial operations and strategic growth initiatives.

2 min, 54 sec | Summary
Steve has extensive experience in the treasury domain and has been instrumental in building and leading high-performing teams. He has a deep understanding of the complexities involved in treasury, including legal entity management, foreign exchange, currency exposure, and automation of payments. He has worked with professionals who have implemented advanced banking solutions, like one of the first corporate swift interfaces. His associates have also developed systems for managing foreign exchange exposure and creating real-time snapshots of global cash positions. Steve's experience extends to hiring and working with industry experts, such as an assistant treasurer from Motorola and Ed Berry, a treasury operations head from Microsoft who later became the first treasurer of Tableau software, a company that grew its revenue to over a billion under his tenure. Steve has maintained professional connections over the years, which suggests his ability to foster long-lasting professional relationships. Additionally, Steve recognizes the need for modernization in treasury technology, noting that many current tools are outdated and lack the capabilities offered by single tenant SaaS and business intelligence tools. This indicates his forward-thinking approach and his potential to bring innovative solutions to the role.

1 min, 0 sec | Summary
Steve and his team decided to form Treasury4, a self-funded company, in mid-2020. They secured a loan from Tom Simpson at the end of 2020, but did not officially launch until April of the following year. At that time, they hired their first employees and leased a workspace in the Wonder Bread building from ten capitals. They began hiring contractors in 2020 and transitioned some to full-time employees. Two key team members, Ed and Nathan, left Salesforce and Itron to join Treasury4 around July 2020. Subsequently, they initiated a convertible note raise, successfully generating $3.5 million in a short time. These funds have been used to expand the team to approximately 23 members as they continue to grow the business.

1 min, 26 sec | Summary
Steve and his team are using Agile Scrum principles on a DevOps platform to develop a suite of software products or modules. The unique aspect of their product is that the modules are founded on legal entity management, incorporating various aspects like signatories, officers, directors, beneficial owners, and their respective ERP systems. This is a change from the usual practice of storing such data in spreadsheets. They are also developing a cash module for daily cash tracking across all banks, which will allow financial officers to have a daily view of their cash and transactions. Future modules include a payments module, a payment rail forecasting module, foreign exchange exposure, and potentially a module for crypto balance management and debt management. These modules may also be offered on an outsourced basis. The entire team aims to maintain their headquarters in Spokane, demonstrating a strong commitment to local residence.

Steve's answer indicates his intent to recreate a successful team dynamic from his past experiences.
